Just a few quick questions after watching disaster coverage tonight:
- Why isn’t every helicopter owner in North America headed to the disaster zone right now?
- Given that we all knew at least 24 hours prior to landfall that this thing was going to be bad, why didn’t the U.S. government order all military transport aircraft, civilian passenger trains, busses, etc. to the Gulf Coast in a mad rush to evacuate people? It certainly wouldn’t have gotten everyone but it would have helped.
- Am I the only one who watches disaster movies? Wasn’t it painfully obvious on Sunday morning that this was going to be as bad or worse than anything Hollywood could come up with? CNN kept telling me that FEMA was on the scene and preparing but were they really prepared for this? Did it never occur to them that they were going to lose New Orleans to the ocean?
- This doesn’t surprise me at all.
