So, the question has come up a few times this week: what the hell happened to the old site? We got hit by a hacker. I’m embarrassed to admit it but that’s what happened. Some software I’d installed for Matt’s site got left un-updated and a known hole was exploited. The little turd replaced all instances of “index.html” with his own file. We caught it within 24 hours, patched the hole and shut down his access but the damage was done. Matt’s buddies are now looking for a new home for their server because we’re shutting ours down and moving our site to this hosted service (see first post).
